Clinical Staff

Dr. Jan Roberts, LCSW

Dr. Jan Roberts, LCSW  is an internationally-recognized speaker, clinician and educator who has combined years of experience working with patients to help them identify and remove unhelpful patterns in their lives.

Dr. Roberts is the Founder and former-CEO of Partners in Health and Wellbeing, one of the largest therapeutic practices in the mid-Atlantic region. A graduate of NYU, Dr. Roberts continues to give back by sharing her expertise through teaching graduate students at NYU.  Dr. Roberts is a highly sought after instructor whose passion for teaching serves to help her students become the most empowered clinical social work students they can be.  Dr. Roberts teaches Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, Human Development, and Psychopathology.

For her clinical work, Dr. Roberts has worked collaboratively with her patients to uncover and address the issues that keep patients from knowing their power and keeps them stuck in unfulfilling  relationships, careers, or with their finances. Dr. Roberts has gained knowledge through her studies of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and sociology.  Her interdisciplinary approach has led to great success for her patients. Her goal is to empower every patient and help them find the freedom from negative patterns that patients have unconsciously used and that keeps them separate from their own wisdom, strength, and creativity.

Dr. Roberts' passion for an interdisciplinary approach has lead her to combine aspects of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Jungian insight-oriented therapy to create an exciting NEW cognitive behavioral intervention called, Insight-oriented Cognitive and Behavioral Transformational Therapy™ (ICBTT).  In addition to ICBTT, Dr. Roberts helps patients identify their own internal and external roadblocks to their own fulfillment  and to create a unique one-of-a-kind wellness plan that has proven benefits.

Of interest, Dr. Roberts is heavily involved with research and education on complementary treatments in mental health including cannabinoids. In 2017, Dr. Roberts founded the International Research Center on Cannabis and Health, a community-based research center based out of NYC which focuses on providing objective research on how cannabinoids (CBD, CBN, CBG, THC and over 100 other cannabinoids) may impact mood-regulation and psychotherapy.  As an extension of her groundbreaking work, Dr. Roberts has been the shaping force of The Cannabinoid Institute, a groundbreaking educational program that certifies physicians, nurses, pharmacists and mental health providers with standards-based, educational content around medical cannabis and its therapeutic impact.  In addition, she is the faculty advisor for the NYU CannaHealth Group.

Ms. Zinman, who is supervised by Dr. Roberts, practices from a strength-based, holistic perspective to help clients live happier, more empowered lives.  With a background working at non-profit organizations, Danielle was exposed to a variety of children and adults experiencing periods of loss and growth.  As a pre-licensed therapist, Danielle utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques and mindfulness interventions to make a tangible difference in people’s lives and overall wellbeing.  She has experience providing therapy for anxiety, depression, family conflicts, trauma, and matters of self-esteem and self-worth.

In her current role, Danielle focuses on the unique challenges that women in the 21st century face at home and at work.  Centering on a goal of female empowerment, sessions are an opportunity to work through these challenges in a safe space filled with acceptance, compassion, and trust.

Ali Everett, MSW Intern

Ali Everett is a pre-licensed mental health therapist at Dr. Jan Roberts & Associates.  Ali is currently working toward her Master of Social Work degree at New York University where she is in her last year of training.

Ali, who is supervised by Dr. Roberts, approaches her work from a mind-body perspective. Ms. Everett's goal is to help her patients explore and expand their sense of calm and empowerment by focusing on one's physical, spiritual, emotional, and social self. She helps her clients find ways to feel more alive in the present. Most of our energy is spent focusing on reacting to external stimulation and making plans for the future. Ali works to help cultivate a space and time to listen to and focus on inner experiences, which is mission-critical in changing how patients relate to themselves and their world. Through her work, Ali creates a therapeutic space we share is filled with acceptance, compassion, and trust.

She works to support patients in nurturing their socio-emotional needs, enabling them to articulate and explore their true passions.
